Country Culture Profiles
A Country Culture Profile helps the professional traveler to gain quick insight in a country’s national culture. It is risky to speak of national culture, even for small countries. Culturally biased preferences differ per region, age and gender, educational level and professional environment. If we speak about a national culture in these profiles, we only indicate the mainstream cultural preferences in a majority or important minority of a country.
Apart from mentioning some general aspects of countries and country cultures, we rate a country on four cultural aspects of importance for people who are going to live and work in that country, or who will be working with foreign nationals outside their country. The scores are the outcome of an Appreciative Inquiry into cultural differences and continuous validation thru comparison with international research data since 1993.
The country scores are plotted in the Model of Freedom and can be compared to Personal Cultural Profile scores. The Ready to Go tool is specifically designed for comparison of personal with country profiles, indicating possible challenges and opportunities in business.
